Nitzavim Parashat

This weeks parashat is in the book of Devarim also called Deuteronomy, and is called Nitzavim which means ‘You are standing’. In this weeks parashat:
– All the People shall stand before YHWH
– You shall enter a covenant with YHWH this day
– YHWH makes the covenant with you so He can make you His people and be your Elohim
– The covenant is not just with them but with others also who are not there
– If you follow after the idolatry of the people you passed through you shall be cursed
– People will tell your children that the curses came because you forsook YHWH
– If you return to Torah He will return you from captivity
– YHWH will regather you and circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your children
– YHWH will put curses upon those who hated you
– Prophecy of a return to Torah and the blessings
– Returning to Torah is not hard to do
– Command to love God, walk in His ways, and keep His Torah
– Punishment for turning to other gods
– The choice is yours
